My fbw is the atlantic ocean (of course!!). I grew up on the east coast of Florida & there's no better place on earth. Hawaii is a close second. I've been on the west coast for 23 years now & although I love the Pacific & the Pacific Northwest (I'm in Portland,Oregon), it's not the same as the intracoastals & swamps of Florida of my youth.

I have my 32 foot 1950 owens sedan cruiser moored at shuswap lake. For those of you that may be wondering that is in southern British Columbia Canada. I like cruising and fishing. I was looking through the net for a club to help me with some restoration questions and purchases.

Lake Lanier is my favorite body of water and apparently the only Lake my newly purchased 1980 27' 'Helms' has ever known. I retired recently and plan to slowly refit the boat. Wish me luck!

I was surfing the internet and came across this site. We just purchased a 1987 Wellcraft. It has a hull that sleeps about four people, cramped. We have three young children who love the water and love to fish. We plan to do a lot of fishing on this boat in the ocean.

I'm thrilled to have gotten a boat, but wish it was a little bigger inside. I'm hoping to find other families we can join on outings.

I bought my first boat last summer (2003 SeaRay 220 Sundeck) and I love it. I keep my boat on Long Island Sound in Westchester NY (although my FBW is Peconic Bay out in Southampton, LI). I quickly realized that a single woman boat owner like myself is very rare (not that I mind being the minority in this case). I'm very interested in meeting other single boat owners who share my passion for boating. I've been searching the net looking for local/national social boating clubs, and came up with nothing until I found AVYC.

My wife and I dail a Irwin 37CC in Charlotte Harbor Fl.and The Gulf.We have made several trips to the Keys and Tortugas along with several to St.Pete Tampa area. We have beenlimited in our distance away from home by work restraints. We do. But only for a little less than 4 yrs now.We can't wait. We have been sailing 13 yrs. starting with a 23 Watkins and teaching ourselves how to make it move. After 3 years we moved up to a 30 Hunter that we sailed for 6 years, then moved up again to the Irwin. It is the boat we plan to escape on. We happened upon the club by way of a link off a link. I don't even remember whose at this point.

My first mate and I own a 26' Regal Powerboat. We like to boat in Southwest Florida waters. We usually cruise to different marinas with our yacht club members. I found the AVYC from a Google inquiry.

My wife and I live just off Cape Cod, Massachusetts and do most of our sailing on Buzzards Bay. We are currently rebuilding a Claymore 30, "Olivebank", that was rescued a year ago from a slow death in a boat yard. This web site was discovered while we were in search of any other Claymore owners out there.

H & I are just retired, just married, and just a new owner of a Harbor 20. We know just enough and are learning/experiencing sailing for as much time as our busy schedule allows. Google told us about you.

Any body water works for me. My preference after that is any BLUE water. I grew up boating with my father and it is my passion. I found this web site because I have a small business "First Mates" and I was searching for some information and this caught my eye. I sell nautical jewelry and decor for boaters/yachties as well as provisioning for yachts in my area. I look forward to spending time reading from this site.

I started out sailing on a small lake in Madison Wisconsin called Lake Mendota using boats owned by the University of Wisconsin Hoofers. I purchased a 22' O'day in 1998 and sold it a few years later so that I could purchase my 28.5 Hunter which resides in Florida on the back bay of Fort Myers Beach. Currently I'm liking the Gulf of Mexico as a home base, but I have my sights set on the Carribean sometime in the next few years, hopefully in a larger boat.

Have a 30' Sea Ray Weekender on Fort Loudon near Knoxville, TN. I am retiring in 2 years and plan to do extensive cruising--the Weekender is for sale and I will be getting a cruiser in the 40'-45' range.

I have loved boating ever since my first experience with it in high school. My parents had a 32' cabin cruiser that we took out on the Illinois River every weekend. I have been sailing once or twice and enjoyed that too!! I am joining a great sailing club and look forward to more great boating experiences!

You know, the shoe repairmans kids go without. I came across the web sight in looking for info and boats built by my G.G.Grandfather and my Great Uncle.
